Home

.Well we are home & setled down although we both had heavy colds, OK Now.
Reflecting back. making DVD of trip & rearranging pictures I thought of the highlights of the trip. These I will now share with you

Going across the Hay plains, the quaint town of Gawler,to fly out over Lake Eyre nearly full of water(not many get to see this), to do the mail run visit a cattle station the size of Belgium. meals at places like Oodnadatta & William Creek Pub.
The vast emptyness of the outback with its colours. The painted Desert withits cliffs, gullies & mountains that rise out of nowhere.

Gregory Downs Pub with a trip into Lawn Hill & Adels Grove, the sections of road that can be used as alanding strip fo emergency planes ie The flying Doctor. The Gulf & further East one of our favourite places Innot Hot Springs.

The trip to Merluna cattle station near Weipa with the various colours of the road, Mamburger at Archer river Roadhouse & Bacon & Egg Burger at Hahn River Roadhouse BOTH HUGE.

Hughendon & Porcupine Gorge (which has taken us 5 years to get to. Winto where The Matilda Caravan Park had entertainment that was first class Graham Rodger acountry singer & Melissa Hall a bush poetess who was hillarious. Then another favourite place Cania Gorge.

Charleville with its Cosmos centre, Nardoo Cattle Station Dirranbandi & the Cactus garden at Lightning Ridge.

One thing that we were not happy with is the changing attitude of SOME Caravaners, a new breed is creeping in who are snobbish, they seem to be younger, The fact that very few stop to help a vanner in trouble was a concern.
